Blake Vaden works with clients in western North Carolina and across the country to design striking and durable furniture, create custom woodworking installations for homes and businesses, renovate existing spaces, and create new indoor and outdoor spaces. Blake lives in Asheville with his wife Amy, their son Gauge, Elvis & Lilly the dogs, and a handful of backyard chickens.
Blake is a graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and spent years honing his skills living and working in Durango, Colorado and rural Vermont, where he learned alongside diverse artisans and builders. Since Blake settled in Asheville in 2008 he has focused increasingly on finish work and custom furniture. As a licensed general contractor in North Carolina, Blake handles all permitting and application processes in house, and works directly with clients throughout all steps of your project.
What We Do
Whether you are beginning a large construction project or you have an idea for a unique piece that will last generations, Vaden Custom will guide you through the process, assist with design, and see your vision to completion.
Vaden Custom installations in homes, restaurants, and businesses showcase our close attention to detail and inspired conceptual approach to designing with wood. Blake's approach to design utilizes the natural look and feel of our materials; all pieces ultimately reflect the wood from which they are made and complement their surroundings.
Vaden Custom specializes in locally-sourced wood, reclaimed lumber, and large slab construction to produce heirloom quality, built-to-last furniture. We work with small and large clients to design and construct indoor and outdoor aesthetic spaces and create one-of-a-kind finishing touches for your existing space.
